AWMF fordert Bürokratieabbau
The Association of Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF) proposes to reduce documentary effort in healthcare through summarized billing rules. The AWMF's goal is to actively promote bureaucracy reduction by 2026 in order to free up more time for medical treatment. "More than half of hospital doctors document for more than three hours a day. This increase in bureaucracy in the healthcare system was caused by all stakeholders involved. The AWMF is now identifying how its member societies can contribute to bureaucracy reduction," explains Prof. Rolf-Detlef Treede, President of the AWMF. "Currently, there are over 980 partially overlapping billing rules and variants. No one can oversee this anymore, and artificial intelligence doesn't help here either, because it needs structure," explains Prof. Erika Raab, Chairwoman of the German Society for Medical Controlling.
