Armata Pharmaceuticals invites to KOL webinar on complicated staphylococcal bacteremia

The US biotech company Armata Pharmaceuticals announces a Key Opinion Leader webinar on November 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, titled "Redefining SoC in Complicated Staph. aureus Bacteremia to Unlock a Real Opportunity." The event is hosted by the analysis firm Jones Research; the internationally renowned infectious disease specialist Prof. Dr. Vance G. Fowler Jr. from Duke University will be the keynote speaker.

The focus is on Armata's phage therapy AP-SA02 for the treatment of complicated Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB), including MRSA and MSSA infections. Fowler, who was significantly involved in the approval studies for daptomycin and ceftobiprole in SAB, among others, will shed light on the current treatment landscape and discuss the potential of phage therapy.

The occasion is the positive Phase 1b/2a diSArm study presented at IDWeek in October 2025: The combination of AP-SA02 with the best available antibiotic therapy showed a higher and earlier cure rate compared to antibiotic treatment alone, no relapses by day 28 after the end of therapy (100% response vs. approx. 25% non-response/relapse in the placebo group), as well as faster normalization of inflammatory parameters, shorter time to bloodstream sterility, and shorter intensive care and hospital stays. AP-SA02 proved to be well-tolerated.

Armata develops highly purified, pathogen-specific bacteriophages as an alternative or supplement to antibiotics for multidrug-resistant infections. AP-SA02 is one of the most clinically advanced phage candidates worldwide.
