Tyber Medical has received clearance for its anatomical plating system in Canada. The US company had previously received FDA 510(k) in the US and has now also been cleared by Health Canada. Tyber Medical is a leading manufacturer of orthopedic products, offering private label orthopedic implants for the trauma, extremity, and spine markets.
The plating system consists of a range of stainless steel and titanium plates that include compression plates with standard and variable locking options, as well as screws of varying lengths, thicknesses, and configurations. The low-profile plates minimize soft tissue irritation while maximizing variable locking technology to reduce screw head prominence. Additionally, the sterile and non-sterile plates feature a technical combination of material and surface modification that significantly increases fatigue strength.
