Medivir seleciona parceira CRO global para o próximo estudo de fase 2b

In the next phase of development, Medivir is planning for a global, randomized phase 2b study aligned with its recent supportive Type C interaction with the FDA. Daewoong Pharmaceutical (CEOs Chang-jae Lee and Seongsoo Park) announced that it will present the pooled analysis results of the Phase 3 clinical trials for Enavogliflozin at the 84th American Diabetes Association conference in Orlando, USA, from June 21 to 24. Tuberkulose ist noch immer eine der tödlichsten Infektionskrankheiten und fordert jedes Jahr weltweit über eine Million Todesopfer. Zudem ist etwa ein Viertel der Weltbevölkerung Träger des Mycobacterium tuberculosis ( M. tuberculosis ), ohne Symptome zu zeigen, und die meisten dieser Träger erkranken nicht. Der aktuelle Tuberkuloseimpfstoff BCG wird weltweit verabreicht. Angesichts von über 10 Millionen neuen Tuberkulosefällen pro Jahr gilt seine Wirksamkeit jedoch als unzureichend. Daher wird derzeit an der Entwicklung von Impfstoffen gearbeitet, die BCG ersetzen sollen. Allerdings hat bisher kein neuer Impfstoff BCG übertroffen, einen hochwirksamen Lebendimpfstoff. Tatsächlich ist BCG sehr wirksam bei der Vorbeugung von Tuberkulose bei Kindern. Die Entwicklung eines Auffrischungsimpfstoffs zur Stärkung der Immunität bei Erwachsenen gilt als vielversprechende und realistische Option.
