Sino-African technology relations on the rise: Experts call for closer cooperation
Nairobi, April 7, 2025 – Technological cooperation between China and Africa is entering a new era of deepening engagement. With the launch of the 2025–2027 Action Plan, decided at last year's Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, experts are now focusing on a more comprehensive partnership. The focus is on digital infrastructure, the promotion of the digital economy, and the modernization of agriculture – areas of central importance for Africa's development. A striking example of past cooperation is the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway, built by China, which has revolutionized Kenya's transport infrastructure since its completion in 2017. Such projects are now to be complemented by technological innovations.
