Anixa Biosciences Unveils Phase 2 Study Plan for Breast Cancer Vaccine

Anixa Biosciences, Inc. (“Anixa” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: ANIX), a biotechnology company focused on the treatment and prevention of cancer, today announced its strategic plan for a Phase 2 study for its breast cancer vaccine. The Phase 1 trial is being conducted at Cleveland Clinic, funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense. The proposed Phase 2 trial will evaluate the efficacy of the vaccine administered in the neoadjuvant (before surgery) setting, in combination with chemotherapy and Keytruda (pembrolizumab). The goal of neoadjuvant therapy is to reduce tumor burden and to prevent tumor recurrence with the intent to improve survival. This clinical trial approach allows Anixa to enroll a broader range of patients, encompassing multiple types of breast cancer.

NeuroSense Therapeutics Ltd. Yale School of Medicine (YSM) developmental biologist Dr. Valentina Greco has been named one of Cell Press’s „50 Scientists that Inspire.“ Cell Press curated the list as part of its 50th anniversary celebration. Financial pressure on health and care insurance funds is increasing enormously

The BKK State Association of Bavaria expects increasing deficits for the years 2024 and 2025 in both statutory health insurance (GKV) and social long-term care insurance (SPV). The drivers of this development are unchecked expenditure growth and the increasing burden on insured persons due to non-insurance-related benefits. A large part of the deficit in GKV and SPV is attributable to non-insurance-related benefits. In long-term care insurance alone, these amount to 5.5 billion euros per year. Of this, 3.5 billion euros alone are for pension insurance contributions for relatives providing care, which are currently financed by contribution funds. In GKV as well, societal burdens of at least 20 billion euros annually are borne through insurance contributions. The lack of compensation for payments to recipients of citizen's income support (Bürgergeld), amounting to around 9 billion euros, has been particularly drastic for years.
