41 Prozent der Deutschen haben bereits persönliche Erfahrungen mit Arzneimittel-Lieferengpässen gemacht. Die repräsentative „Pharmastandort Deutschland“-Umfrage des Meinungsforschungsinstituts INSA-CONSULERE im Auftrag des Bundesverbands der Pharmazeutischen Industrie e.V. (BPI) von Mai 2024 zeigt, dass eine starke heimische Pharmaindustrie als zentral für die Versorgungssicherheit mit Arzneimitteln angesehen wird. Grundlage dafür ist im Urteil der Befragten vor allem eine Verbesserung der bestehenden rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen durch die Politik. 51 Prozent der Teilnehmenden sind besorgt, dass die Zahl der Arzneimittelhersteller in Deutschland in den nächsten fünf Jahren deutlich sinken wird. Eine absolute Mehrheit von 81 Prozent fordert deshalb, dass Deutschland unabhängiger von globalen Lieferketten werden muss. Ebenso sind 82 Prozent der Befragten der Meinung, dass die Bundesregierung bessere Rahmenbedingungen für die Ansiedlung von pharmazeutischen Unternehmen sowie für die pharmazeutische Forschung und Produktion in Deutschland schaffen muss. Men with prostate cancer could significantly reduce the chances of the disease worsening by eating more fruits, vegetables, nuts, and olive oil, according to new research by UC San Francisco.  A study of more than 2,000 men with localized prostate cancer found that eating a primarily plant-based diet was associated with a 47% lower risk that their cancer would progress, compared with those who consumed the most animal products.  This amounted to eating just one or two more servings per day of healthy foods, particularly vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, while eating fewer animal products, like dairy and meat.
