Abbott opens plant in Ireland to boost production of Libre 3 sensors

Abbott has opened a manufacturing facility in Ireland to produce Freestyle Libre 3 glucose sensors.
The 30,000-square-meter facility is part of Abbott's effort to increase production of the Libre 3 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device, following reports of delays in prescription fulfillment.
Abbott plans to employ more than 800 people at the plant in Kilkenny, Ireland. The facility is expected to produce more Libre sensors than any other manufacturing site in the company, according to Monday's announcement.
