Bird flu vaccines

Until recently, there was no approved vaccine for humans to protect themselves against bird flu. But that changed on February 22, 2024, when the European Medicines Agency (EMA) gave the green light for two new bird flu vaccines: Celldemic and Incellipan.

These vaccines come from Seqirus, a company that is already known for its flu vaccines. Seqirus has developed Flucelvax® Tetra, a vaccine produced using cell cultures, as well as Fluad Tetra®, a vaccine with an adjuvant that specifically aims to protect people over 50 from seasonal flu.
