Marita Vollborn (born 1965 in Erfurt) is a German freelance journalist, book author, and sculptor. She is widely recognized for her critical non-fiction books on the food industry and economics, as well as her expressive, socio-political bronze and digital artworks.
Journalism and Non-Fiction Books
Vollborn studied agronomy at the Humboldt University of Berlin and journalism in Hanover. Since 1992, she has worked as a freelance science and business journalist, contributing to major outlets like SPIEGEL Online and Focus-Magazin.
Together with her co-author Vlad Georgescu, she has written several bestselling, critical investigative books:

In addition to her writing, Vollborn works as a contemporary fine artist. Her physical sculptures focus heavily on political and humanistic statements, often using fragmented and expressive forms to spark social critique over commercial appeal.
- Socio-Political Themes: Her artwork highlights global issues, such as a piece depicting a blade emerging from a book to symbolize how written language is used to spread hatred. Another deeply personal piece honors a breast cancer survivor, symbolizing female courage and self-confidence.
