Marita Vollborn: Selected Artist at Chianciano Biennale 2026
German artist Marita Vollborn will present her bronze sculpture „ARES“ at the Chianciano Biennale 2026 at the Chianciano Art Museum in Tuscany from August 15 to 29. She has been selected as one of the featured artists for the international exhibition. Vollborn, born in 1965 in Erfurt, is not only a sculptor but also a journalist and author. Since 2010 she has devoted herself intensively to sculpture. Her central project „Sinn und Scherben®“ („Sense and Shards“) comprises around 50 sculptures in clay and bronze created between 2010 and 2019. The works explore personal and societal themes – from hope and loss to pain, courage, and social change. Vollborn sees her art as a critical counterpoint to commercial trends, deliberately conveying uncomfortable, thought-provoking messages.
